        100% On-Device Privacy Commitment: SMS Kavach runs threat detection completely locally on your device. Your SMS messages, phone status, and personal data are never uploaded, shared, or transmitted to any external servers.
    

1. Overview

Your privacy is of utmost importance to us. This Privacy Policy explains how SMS Kavach ("we", "us", or "our") handles permissions and information when you use our mobile application.

2. Information We Collect

SMS Kavach does NOT collect, store on servers, or transmit any personal data.

Local On-Device Analysis: All SMS threat scanning occurs in real-time on your phone's processor.
Encrypted Local Log: If a spam or phishing message is intercepted, it is saved strictly in your phone's local storage in an encrypted format using hardware-backed AES-256 GCM encryption via the Android KeyStore. Nobody else can read your local log.

3. Permissions We Use & Why

SMS Kavach requests sensitive permissions strictly for its core functionality as an SMS spam blocker and phishing threat guardian:

RECEIVE_SMS & READ_SMS: Required to detect incoming SMS messages in real time and scan text content for phishing links, fake KYC alerts, APK malware downloads, and lottery scams.
READ_PHONE_STATE: Used strictly to detect if an active phone call is ongoing when an OTP arrives, enabling our Call-Time OTP Fraud Warning feature to prevent phone call scams.
SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW: Allows SMS Kavach to display a real-time warning popup over your screen whenever a high-risk SMS threat is detected.

4. Third-Party Services

Our app integrates trusted third-party SDKs for non-intrusive ads and app stability monitoring:

Google AdMob: Serves non-intrusive banner advertisements. AdMob may collect anonymous device identifiers strictly for ad delivery in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.
Firebase Analytics: Collects anonymous crash logs and basic performance diagnostics to keep the app stable and crash-free.

5. Sharing of Information

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information or SMS content with any third parties. All threat evaluation happens locally on your Android device.

6. Children's Privacy

SMS Kavach is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Any updates will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
